ST Agrate Brianza site, located close to Milan, has played a key role throughout the Company's history, providing leading-edge semiconductor technology since the birth of the Integrated Circuit industry.

Today, it is at the heart of the so-called "Brianza Microelectronic District", tightly collaborating with main local and European Universities and with Research Institutes all over the world.

The site hosts front-end manufacturing, product design, R&D, application Labs and marketing operations, with more than 3,000 employees. A huge part of this staff holds university or technical college degrees and some 35% are engaged in R&D activities.

Today, Agrate site is one of ST's most important worldwide operations, spread over a clean room area of 25,000 sq. m. Altogether, around 10% of the Company's annual billings can be attributed to the front-end manufacturing carried out in Agrate.
