The company DORA S.p.A. (Drivers Onward Research Agency) was established in 2000 as a joint-venture between Tecdis S.p.A. and Finaosta, with the external technological support of STMicroelectronics who acquired 100% of the Company  in 2002.

It is based in a brand new location in Aosta, on the Alps in the northern part of Italy, very close to the city center, the train station and the cableway system to Pila ski centre.

It is now composed of around 50 designers and application engineers, mainly dedicated to Research and Development of Integrated Circuits for the Industrial and Power Conversion market segment, exploiting the most advanced technologies available in ST and the most recent Hardware and Software tools.

Training is a complementary activity of Microelectronics Research and Development in DORA, supporting students to develop their degree thesis, teaching courses and organizing seminars inside the Polytechnic of Turin.

The collaboration with the Polytechnic is made easier by the installation inside the Polytechnic itself of a workstation equipped with the Circuit Architecture Design tools of some significant ST technologies, thus allowing the students to acquire the basic knowledge used in Microelectronics Research.
