ST's Configuration and Programming
Software (CAPS) provides an intuitive interface
that facilitates configuration of memory, peripherals and
I/Os for the STR9 and uPSD microcontroller families. CAPS
also allows in-system programming using an external JTAG adapter
for rapid programming of microcontrollers in a development
or a production environment.
For STR9 devices, CAPS provides an easy-to-use
interface that facilitates configuration of clocks, peripherals,
GP I/Os and several other device parameters that are initialized
by firmware at run time. CAPS then allows developers to output
their configurations in a C header file for integration in
the their application.

For uPSD devices, CAPS allows easy configuration
of the device's programmable logic, memory and I/Os using
simple drag-and-drop and point-and-click operations. CAPS
automatically generates the Hardware Description Language
and maps the configuration to physical memory. The "Wizard"
provides typical memory maps that can be used in their entirety,
or as a starting point for customization.
Note: CAPS replaces all versions of PSDsoft Express for
uPSD devices.
