The L6740L dual-PWM multi-phase controller, together with a power MOSFET driver (L6741, L6743 or L6743Q), is the first hybrid solution on the market for power management of the new AMD desktop and server processors. Compliant with a dual-plane supply and serial communication interface (SVI), the controller is also compatible with CPUs using single-plane supply and parallel interface (PVI), allowing the design of hybrid motherboards.
The L6741, L6743 and L6743Q offer a selection of MOSFET drivers, in SO-8 and DFN10 3 x 3 mm packages, suitable for use in desktop computers, servers, low-voltage power converters, and for thermally enhanced applications. Their high current driving capability suits applications from just a few amps to over 35 A per phase, from both 5 V and 12 V buses.
