Based on the ST32 family, classical SIMs (as opposed to secure NFC SIMs addressed with the ST33) and M2M devices are at the heart of user and machine authentication for any 2G/3G/4G mobile communication. STMicroelectronics has developed a flexible and powerful concept allowing customers to address both classical SIM and M2M markets while reducing risks and development costs.

The ST32-M family, derived from the ST32F, allows customers to meet M2M quality requirements thanks to its improved temperature range, data retention and cycling capabilities. Both families (ST32F and ST32-M) are code compatible.

The ST32 family is based on an ARM Cortex™-M3 core and Flash technology. It comes with versions featuring from 256 Kbytes to 512 Kbytes of Flash to address the whole Java SIM card market.
