ST’s portfolio of precision shunt voltage references include:
- High-power references, with a maximum cathode current of 100 mA
- Adjustable output voltage from 0.6 to 36 V
- Micropower references, dedicated to portable applications, with a minimum cathode current as low as 40 µA and precision as good as 0.1%
These perform functionally in a similar way to Zener diodes but have better specifications.
LM4041xx micropower shunt voltage reference
Demonstrating a stable 1.225 V output voltage at very high precision with an initial accuracy of 0.1% @ 25 °C, the LM4041xx shunt voltage reference exhibits an ultra-low operating current of 40 μA which makes it ideal for micropower designs. It is available in the low noise and small SOT323-5L and SOT23-3L surface mount packages.
