L9333 : QUAD LOW SIDE DRIVER

The L9333 is a monolithic integrated quad low side driver for line driving, lamps and generic resistive and inductive loads in an automotive environment.

Each output driver is controlled by a separate 3.3V CMOS compatible logic input, allowing the device to be driven directly by a microcontroller. For noise immunity reasons all input thresholds have a 100mV hysteresis. The polarity of the L9333's four channels can be changed from non-inverting to inverting mode by a high logic level on the PRG (programming) input. Through the ENable input the device can be activated (EN high) or turned into sleep mode with a quiescent current of less than 100µA.

All inputs, including EN and PRG are protected in order to withstand voltages from 14V to 45V.

Each output driver has a current limitation of 0.4A and an independent thermal shutdown circuit which turns the driver off in case of local overtemperature. The over- temperature threshold has a hysteresis of typically 20K. The output stages use a DMOS transistor as a power driving element, with the gates of the transistors being driven by current sources for charging and discharging in order to limit the output slopes. This reduces electromagnetic emissions. For inductive loads an output clamp of typically 52V is implemented. A diagnostic open drain output gives information on fault conditions such as overtemperature,

supply or ground disconnected.
