The ST202E/ST232E are 2 driver, 2 receiver devices following the EIA/TIA-232 and V.28 communication standards. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks. The ST202E/ST232E are designed for those applications where ±12V is not available and use a single +5V power supply. The ST232E operates with four 1µF capacitors, while the ST202E operates with four 0.1µF capacitors. The ST202E/ST232E are guaranteed to run at data rates of 120kbps while maintaining RS-232 output levels.
