STMicroelectronics' programmable system-on-chip platforms consist of on-chip resources such as processors, special hardware accelerator blocks, integrated peripherals and embedded software layers, optimized for a particular type of application.
Since the level of customization has continued to increase over the years, ST recently launched a new family of customizable system-on-chips. These incorporate a powerful, ARM-based digital engine, together with a configurable logic block, where customers can map their logic, drastically reducing customization time.
This customizable processor family addresses a variety of applications, including digital engines for printers, scanners and other embedded control applications.
