The growing need for metering applications with high accuracy
over a wide dynamic range of current, low power consumption, and
high reliability and robustness, is driving the trend towards the
use of solid-state solutions over traditional mechanical ones.
To address these needs, ST has introduced a comprehensive set of
single-phase and three-phase reference designs to speed up and simplify
the design of an IEC/ANSI-compliant electronic meter or embedded
metering function.
These solutions are accurate, cost-effective, easy to manufacture,
easy to calibrate and reliable, and implement new functionalities
such as automatic meter reading (AMR), tamper proofing, multi-tariff
billing and a prepayment module with a smartcard reader. |
