A simple kit that demonstrates the functionality of the VM6101 ambient light sensor. The VM6101 connects to a PC via the parallel port, using the supplied cable and communicates using I²C. The software automatically generates the I²C commands required to communicate with the VM6101 and displays the data read back in four separate bars, one for each pixel on the device. Full control of the threshold and PWM functions are enabled through the software.

The reference design contains

• - VM6101 Demonstration board
• - Cable to connect to a PC via the parallel port
• - Five VM6101 devices for evaluation
