STMAV335 Product Page
In order to perform multiple high-definition video signal switching efficiently, ST has introduced the STMAV335, a new NEATSwitch device. The STMAV335 is a triple, bi-directional Single Pole Triple Throw (SP3T), highspeed, analog video switch designed for advanced video applications which demand superior image quality. The low on resistance (RON) and low I/O capacitance of STMAV335 allow inputs to be connected to outputs without adding propagation delay or generating additional ground bounce noise. |
The combination of SEL1 and SEL2 is used to either disable or enable the desired video channel. Various 3-channel video source input configurations can work with STMAV335:
Component Video YPbPr I/O (3 channels) |
Component Video YCbCr I/O (3 channels) |
RGB VGA I/O (3 channels) |
S-Video I/O (2 channels) + Composite Video CVBS I/O (1 channel) |
S-video I/O (3 channels) |
Given any combination of three video inputs, STMAV335 will only select one video output.

The STMAV335 offers a high-performance, low-cost solution to switch between video sources. The key features of STMAV335 are as follows:
Wide bandwidth: 300MHz |
Low 4Ohm switch resistance between two ports |
High Speed: tPD = 4.4ns (MAX.) at TA = 85°C |
VCC operating range: 4.0V to 5.5V |
High ESD rating: > 2kV HBM |
Low quiescent current consumption |
Zero bounce in flow-through mode |
Control inputs compatible with TTL level |
| Advanced Display Applications |
STMAV335 is designed for very low cross-talk, low bit-to-bit skew, high channel-to-channel noise isolation and low I/O capacitance. The bi-directional video switch offers very little or practically no attenuation of the high-speed signals at the outputs, thus allowing video signal integrity to pass stringent requirements. The combination of low onresistance and wide bandwidth allows the highdefinition video signals to pass through the switch with minimum attenuation. This makes it ideal for use in advanced display applications as mentioned below:
TV - Flat panel displays (PDP, TFT-LCD) |
Front projector (LCD, DLP) |
Rear projector TV (DLP, LCoS) |
LCD monitors, notebook PCs |
VCR/DVD players |
With the increased 3:1 channels, multiple components,
such as VCR, DVD, PC1 and PC2, can be put on the video networks.
