The M40SZ100W incorporates Early Power-Fail Warning along with battery switchover and write protect circuits to Non-Volatize an LPSRAM, thereby turning it into an NVRAM.

Other features of the M40SZ100W include a reset output for Power-on Reset/Low Voltage Detect, a reset input for enhanced system integration, and a battery monitor (Battery Low Pin) which indicates when the battery is low.
