The M40SZ100W operates from 2.7V to 3.0V, and is rated
for Industrial (–40°C to 85°C) temperature applications.
It also comes in ST's 16-pin SOIC (Lead-free) package.
Sometimes called PFI/PFO (Power-Fail In / Power-Fail Out), the
Early Power Fail Warning circuitry enables the user to monitor
his system power supply and provide advanced warning when it senses
the voltage dropping. This advanced warning provides the necessary
time for the microprocessor to gracefully shut the system down
and save any critical data to non-volatile memory before the power
fails. Other uses for this circuitry include monitoring a secondary
supply in a multiple voltage system.
Other features of the M40SZ100W include a reset output for Power-On
Reset/Low Voltage Detect, a reset input for enhanced system integration,
and a battery monitor (Battery Low Pin) which indicates when the
battery is low. |
