The LD49300 optimized for low-voltage, high current
applications in set-top boxes, servers and desktop
PCs, is a high-bandwidth, low-dropout, 3Amp voltage
regulator ideal for powering core voltages of lowpower
microprocessors. It consumes only 5mA of
quiescent current without compromising transient
response.

The LD49300 implements a dual supply configuration,
providing very low output impedance and very fast
transient response.
This regulator requires a bias input supply and a main
input supply, allowing ultra-low drop voltage on the
main supply rail. The input supply operates from 1.4V
to 6V and the bias supply requires between 3V and
6V for proper operation.
The LD49300 offers the most common fixed output
voltages and adjustable output voltages down to 0.8V,
giving designers a linear alternative to noisy and
expensive switching regulators. The LD49300 requires
at least a 1μF output capacitance to ensure stability.
Specific capacitor selection could however be needed
to ensure the transient response.
