Offering high precision and low consumption within an industrial temperature range, the TS3431 programmable shunt voltage refer ence targets SMPS applications, and industrial or automotive applications.

Low Consumption, High Precision


An ideal general-purpose rogrammable voltage reference, the TS3431 offers an extended emperature range, adjustable output voltage (1.24 to 24V), low current consumption (0.4mA to 100mA), high precision and small surface-mounted package. The TS3431 is available in the space-saving SOT23-3L package and the standard TO92, 3-pin package. It is also pin-topin compatible with the industry standard TL431. The TS3431 has a low operating current of 0.4mA, which is ideal for switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) requiring low standby current for power savings.

The TS3431’s low current consumption reduces the secondary-side current allowing the reduction of the overall power consumption for the entire power supply.
This environment-friendly feature is increasingly important, especially as many power supplies are continuously plugged in, with or without a load.


Applications


TS3431 is a high precision device with high accuracy of 0.25%. Programmed with external precision resistors, it will provide an accurate voltage reference in an analog circuit, and with an additional transistor, makes a discrete precision regulator.
With its extended industrial temperature range (-40 to +125°C), the TS3431 is suitable for automotive applications, for example, power regulation. Other applications include power supplies (SMPS), isolated DC/DC converters, battery-powered equipment and data acquisition equipment.
