QST Capacitive Touch Sensors

The QST touch controller solution for capacitive sensing is based on QProx™ patented technology which is embedded in this application-specific controller line. Developed by our partner Quantum Research Group (QRG), it is a patented software IP supporting a complex digital algorithm that periodically measures the time it takes to charge an external capacitance value. The QProx solution is low risk and robust with a proven track record of more than 10 years. The QST family offers a microcontroller architecture with a complete firmware solution that is ready to use with very few external passive components. Built around our 8-bit cores, this solution opens the door to future products based on more powerful cores and a combination of multi-application task functionalities.

The QST family advantages:

  • Microcontroller-based complete firmware solution for fast time to market
  • Purely digital IP from industry leader Quantum Research Group with successful qualification at key OEMs in telecom, consumer, appliance, industrial, and computer industries
  • Most adaptive solution that fits specific customer requirements
  • Technology offering a combination of touch-key, wheel, and slider configurations
  • Large portfolio of products planned beginning with QST108 release

QST108 – Our first touch controller

Ensuring all the performances of QProx technology, the QST108 offers a standard configuration of 8 keys in an LQFP32 package. The device's specification offers an ideal solution for many home appliances, consumer and mobile electronics, computers, and peripherals. It is also our first product released in the QTouch™ configuration that allows product qualification and testing in anticipation of future lower and higher key-count market releases. Extension to QWheel™/QSlide™ and QMatrix™ products, and mixed configurations is also planned.
