The STCC02 device is dedicated
to digitally controlled microwave ovens. It integrates
the seven analog and power functions, which are
required around the MCU to sense and drive the AC power loads:
the zero voltage synchronization, two relay coil drivers with
their associated safety controls, the MCU 5V supply with its reset
circuit, and the buzzer drive circuit.
Using a 30V power technology, this device is
able to run with large input voltage variations from 7 to 27V.
Housed in the standard industry DIP-16 package,
it has a 100°C/W thermal resistance able to cool its regulator
and its drivers on an extended temperature range from -10 to 85°C.
The STCC02 also plays an important role
in the system safety. For instance, the magnetron can
be powered only if the fan cools it, and if the oven door is closed:
the fan-down lock enables the driver if the fan is running and
the relay coil is supplied directly through a door switch contact.
With this relay driver, the reset and the closed-door detector
contribute also to the oven safety.
The STCC02 is the first home appliance oriented
ASSP that embeds the AC power control and safety functions required
for a microwave’s oven control platform. Thanks to an exhaustive
functional definition including electromagnetic compatibility,
it maximizes the integration of the discrete devices, reducing
the cost of the overall system and increasing the overall quality
of the cooking control unit. |
