STripFET VHigh-end industrial power applications supplied by a three-phase mains, are moving towards the new universal input voltage, which ranges from 200 VAC to 690 VAC. Their auxiliary switching-mode power supply (SMPS), based on flyback topology, requires the use of a main switching transistor with a very high blocking voltage capability whose breakdown voltage can easily reach 2000 V or more. The new 2200 V ESBT family can be considered an ideal, cost effective solution for all applications requiring both high voltage and high switching frequencies.
