ST’s ultra-low-power MCU platform is based on the 8-bit STM8L and 32-bit STM32 L1 MCUs, using ST’s proprietary 130 nm and 110 nm ultra-low-leakage process technology. These ultra-low-power MCUs meet the ever increasing need for portable and battery-operated applications, as well as new green technologies.
The ultra-low-power platform enables STM8L and STM32 L1 microcontrollers to operate at the industry's lowest power consumption of 1.3 µA with SRAM retention and full RTC running, and 300 nA in standby.
New ULP technology further reduces power consumption
A new ULP technology node (110nm) allows for a further reduction of the active mode power consumption of the STM32L1 series devices. This allows to achieve a significantly reduced power budget at application level and extended battery lifetime. The first devices in this new technology can be selected here.
