DC Motor Actuators

Motor control is one of the most important issues in robotics. In general, mobile robots require motors to control two kinds of section: one is related to robot locomotion and the other is related to the movement of the end effectors placed on the robot itself. Robot locomotion must allow the mobile robot to move around in a structured or unstructured environment. This is usually satisfied by simple DC motors where the rotational speed is proportional to the voltage applied, and the torque is proportional to the current. A full-bridge converter allows the motor to run in both directions.
