Single switch chopper drive

We consider here permanent magnet DC motors where the stator is composed of two or more permanent-magnet pole pieces and the rotor is composed of windings that are connected to a mechanical commutator. A single-switch chopper can seamlessly control the speed using duty cycle modulation.
