The Altair high-voltage all-primary-sensing (opto-less) switchers operate directly from the rectified mains with a minimum of external parts. They combine a high-performance PWM controller and an avalanche-rugged power section (800 and 900 V options) in the same package.

Altair controllers offer:

• High reliability and robustness guaranteed by 800/900 V avalanche-rugged internal power section
• Lower power consumption in standby mode (<70 mW at high line)
• Reduced SMPS components and cost:  it works without the optocoupler, the secondary voltage reference and the current sensor, still maintaining accurate regulation for both voltage and current
