Precision Current Measurement and Signal Conditioning with High-Accuracy Op Amps
Learn how ST's range of precision op amps and current sense amplifiers can help maximize accuracy in a variety of precision analog sensing applicationsWednesday, September 29th 2021 |
In many applications, precision operational amplifiers (op amps), along with a specific subset of instrumentation amplifiers dedicated to current sensing, are the primary link between analog small signal detection and the input to accurate analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), where accurate current measurement is a must.
Often dismissed as a component of secondary importance during the design phase, the choice of the right amplifier can make a significant difference in the performance and accuracy of an entire system, whether it's a BLDC motor driver in a power tool, the bidirectional overcurrent protection circuitry in an automotive battery management system, or a sensitive detector of harmful gas in a residential home. While some applications can tolerate variations in an amplifier's specifications and still work to a certain degree, precision applications require adherence to the tightest specifications to function well.
This webinar will teach you what you need to know to achieve optimal performance in application designs requiring precise current sensing.
You will learn:
- Which op-amp specifications really matter for an application, without being an op-amp expert
- How to read a precision amplifier datasheet and pick the right device for the job
- Some application examples in which the op amp is the key component
- About the latest generation of highly-accurate current sense and precision amplifiers from ST
