Hakim Jaafar, Marketing Director for the STM32 Wireless Business Line at STMicroelectronics

Hakim Jaafar has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and is currently the Marketing Director for the STM32 Wireless Business Line at STMicroelectronics. He joined ST in 2000, and since then has held numerous key positions within ST’s 8- and 32-bit MCU organizations. In 2015, Jaafar was promoted to lead development of the new STM32 Wireless product line, which has now launched the STM32WB (2.4 GHz) and STM32WL (sub-GHz) MCU Series. Hakim holds a Master’s Degree in Physics and Applications from the University Paul Sabatier, and a Master’s in Semiconductor Physics and Management (Engineering degree) from the Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne in France.

Solofoniaina Razafindrahaba, Vertical Marketing Cellular Group Leader, Microcontroller Division, STMicroelectronics

Solofoniaina Razafindrahaba has an extensive background in connectivity. His mission is to specify and design solutions based on STM32 with cellular connectivity. He has over 18 years' experience in system architecture, and in the design and implementation of connectivity solutions in wireless cellular technology, as well as wired technology, including the DOCSIS standard. His focus has now turned to addressing the challenges of designing ultra-low power IoT devices with enhanced, secure cloud connectivity. Solofoniaina holds a Master of Science in electronics, real-time systems and signal processing.

Brian Makarowski, Senior Director, Product Management, Sierra Wireless

In over 15 Years at Sierra Wireless, Brian has been responsible for wireless product strategy, key ecosystem relationships with mobile network operators, silicon providers and solution partners, and the hardware development of the company’s cellular embedded modules. Brian has over 25 years of experience in IoT, wireless and M2M thanks to his experience working at Motorola Inc., Denso, AirPrime, NETGEAR and u-blox.

Augustin Monsaingeon, Senior Product Manager, Edge to Cloud, Sierra Wireless

In 2 years at Sierra Wireless, Augustin has been setting up solution architecture activities and is now leading Sierra’s Edge to Cloud product line. Augustin has over 20 years of experience in IoT, wireless, location technologies and in cloud computing while working at cellular carriers, infrastructure vendors and indoor location companies.
