Sensors and Solutions for Smart Industry applications

Learn to design a Sensor-to-Cloud condition monitoring application with the SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STWIN) development kit

Watch On-Demand

Watch the 1-hour on-demand webinar to explore the challenges of Industry 4.0 and learn how to build a complete sensor-to-cloud application using advanced industrial-grade sensors.

In the webinar we discuss today's diverse sensing technologies and how they can be applied to condition monitoring, and introduce you to the newest addition to our SensorTile family of form-factor sensor development kits - the SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STWIN).

The STWIN is a development kit and reference design that simplifies prototyping and testing of advanced industrial IoT applications such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.

The session covers how to use the STM32Cube function pack in industrial predictive maintenance applications for early detection of potential failures, and how to connect the STWIN kit to the Predictive Maintenance Dashboard, a cloud application built with AWS services. The dashboard provides a highly functional and intuitive interface tailored for the collection, visualization and analysis of condition monitoring data from motion and acoustic vibration sensing elements, as well as temperature and other environmental data.

You will learn:

  • How to benefit from ST's latest sensor technologies in industrial applications
  • How to capture, process and store sensor data in a cloud application
  • How the SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STWIN) can facilitate rapid proof-of-concept validation

About the SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STWIN)

The STWIN SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node (STEVAL-STWINKT1) features a core system board with a range of embedded industrial-grade sensors and an ultra-low-power Arm® Cortex®-M4 microcontroller for vibration analysis of 9-DoF motion sensing data across a wide range of vibration frequencies, including very high frequency audio and ultrasound spectra, and high precision local temperature and environmental monitoring.

The development kit is complemented with a rich set of software packages and optimized firmware libraries, as well as a cloud dashboard application, all provided to help speed up design cycles for end-to-end solutions.

The STEVAL-STWINKT1 supports Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless connectivity through an on-board module, and Wi-Fi connectivity through a special plugin expansion board (STEVAL-STWINWFV1). Wired connectivity is also supported via an on-board RS485 transceiver. The core system board also includes an STMod+ connector for compatible, low cost, small form factor daughter boards associated with the STM32 family, such as the LTE Cell pack.

Apart from the core system board, the kit is provided complete with a 480 mAh Li-Po battery, an STLINK-V3MINI debugger and a plastic box.
