The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the way businesses realize value, compete and partner. Inexpensive sensors, ease of connectivity, and connected machines are providing an abundance of data about your business. The Internet of Things will soon be the single greatest source of data on the planet—but IBM research indicates that nearly 90 percent of IoT data is “unseeable” for traditional IT-based decision support systems.  Not harvesting this IT data for operational and customer insights is a missed opportunity.

By bringing together the IoT with IBM Watson™cognitive computing technologies, you can infuse a new kind of thinking into objects, systems and processes that goes beyond collecting and analyzing data. The IBM Watson IoT Platform delivers a fully managed, cloud-hosted service that makes it simple to derive and recognize value from devices, products and services by tapping into data reporting the utilization and performance of devices in context. Context like operating conditions, user experiences and even weather.

Unlike niche suppliers of discreet IoT service offerings, the comprehensive IBM Watson IoT Platform allows organizations to quickly and securely build and deploy IoT applications, manage IoT devices, sensors and gateways, and view data patterns in real time, leveraging the power of a catalog of Watson APIs. All with one platform, scaling from chip to app to cloud.

JIG-SAW (US Corporation: neqto: Inc.) has a wealth of experience in the software development of LTE communication modules for cellular applications.

By utilizing "neqto:", a power-saving and secure embedded software technology engine, we are able to assist in the construction of IoT systems with ultra-low power consumption designs. We package embedded software for management from the cloud that runs at the edge of mass-produced IoT products created by our customers, providing embedded software development and engines for enterprise businesses using mass-produced products globally, mainly in North America and Japan.

Features of Our Solution

  • neqto: is an embedded software engine for turning regular devices into IoT devices, and allows for full management from the cloud via both LTE and Wi-Fi.
  • neqto: was developed based on the concept that anyone can easily adopt edge computing, making it possible for devices to run on their own even when not connected to a network.
  • neqto: reduces the amount of excess data communication from constant connection between devices and cloud systems.
  • It also can run on ultra-low power, letting users create IoT systems powered by small power sources such as batteries.

neqto: can be used with any type of public cloud, allowing you to remotely control your terminal devices from your own cloud environment and incorporate real-time two-way data communication.

  • For example, by incorporating " neqto:" as a function directly into hardware such lighting equipment in buildings or commercial dishwashers, it is possible to reduce maintenance costs and improve the efficiency of previously human resource-intensive tasks.

We create optimized ML and AI architectures and train custom models for effective storage and inference on MCUs. Our specialty is computer vision but we handle time series data, such as distance sensors or velocity inputs, as well. ML and AI on local MCUs is especially interesting for products where the input data cannot be transported to a cloud system for analysis, due to either confidentiality issues or time constraints.

Our experience range from pre-training full models on a PC, partial training using transfer-learning on a PC, and even minimal training directly on the MCU using kNN style networks.

We are experienced in making quick explorative ML prototypes for early testing of ideas against real-life data. This allows you to validate the feasibility and market potential of new products with minimal effort before starting a larger-scale project.

Our knowledge in the area of ML and AI algorithms and their application possibilities and limitations on MCUs makes Mjølner the ideal partner for sparing when developing new product ideas.

Looking for an implementer to support you with world-class skills within AI or Graphics for embedded devices? Mjølner Informatics is your choice.
