Between these two offerings comes the capability to power motor control applications from 20 W to 30 kW, and the ACEPACK module can be customized to fit almost any industrial power requirement. Both modules are flexible and full-featured, with the SLLIMM module integrating everything needed to interface a microcontroller directly to a motor, including gate drivers, power transistor inverter stage, and analog peripherals, while the ACEPACK module incorporates ST’s M-series trench gate field-stop IGBTs for the best-in-class trade-off between switching and conduction losses.

During the session we will also explore ST's device portfolio and available package options, and present relevant application examples. You will become familiar with the converter-inverter-brake and six-pack topologies in the ACEPACK package, as well as the diverse families of SLLIMM modules tailored to specific applications based on power transistor and form factor selection.

Finally, we will introduce you to the powerful STPowerStudio for thermal simulation of most common applications that utilize ST power modules.

Jeff Halbig holds both B.S. and M.Eng degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After 8 years of power supply design, Jeff joined STMicroelectronics as a product marketing engineer for power discrete in 2012. He has been marketing manager for power transistors since 2014 and leads a team promoting power solutions focusing on the Industrial market.
