The STM8L, based on the 8-bit STM8 core, benefits from our proprietary ultra-low-leakage process, shared with the STM32L family, and features an ultra-low power consumption of 0.30 µA with the lowest power mode.

ST is extending its range of Nucleo development tools to support its STM8 microcontroller family.

These STM8 Nucleo development boards enables easy and affordable prototyping using STM8 microcontrollers combined with a range of available hardware plug-ins through Arduino Uno connectors.

The new Nucleo-64 boards, based on STM8S208RB and STM8L152R8, come with direct support from a large choice of IDEs, and include an embedded STLink debugger/programmer, which eliminates the need for an external debug SWIM probe.

Over 40 Nucleo boards are now available, covering the full spectrum or performance, power, and memory combinations across STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers; product creation is fluid and flexible with freedom to adjust or optimize hardware and software at any time thereby minimizing risks and time to market.
