ST automotive seat positioning solution includes the 32-bit Automotive MCU SPC560B that you can combine - through the SPC5-EV-ADIS adapter - with the VIPower® VNHD7008AY or VNHD7012AY high-bridge motor drivers based on different load current profiles.

With the aim of making the board usage and settings simpler, ST provides a dedicated user-friendly software with a Graphic User Interface, STSW-SPC5VH-ADIS, for M0-7 H-bridges dedicated to set and control the adapter board SPC5EV-ADIS enabling the connection of H-bridge easy boards.

Besides SPC560B automotive MCU, ST can provide high-end automotive microcontroller SPC58 Chorus with advanced features such as CAN-FD for high speed in car gateway solution and HSM for security. SPC58 Chorus is available in different memory sizes starting from 0.5 MB and in scalable packages.  

ST automotive seat positioning solution with VNHD7008AY, VNHD7012AY is designed to drive medium- and high-power DC motors for seat position subsystems such as seat front-back-high-recline-width-angle, providing proper power capability and heat dissipation.

ST wide portfolio of automotive high-bridge motor drivers and high-side drivers is able to cover also seat comfort subsystems such as massage motor and seat cooling.

Power management and connectivity can be performed by monolithic solution L99PM62GXP, Power Management IC integrating LIN, high-speed CAN and two LDOs, tailored for body modules requiring very low quiescent current.

Based on customer needs, also a discrete solution with improved modularity can be proposed, constituted by L5300x or L5150x LDO family and L9616 high-speed CAN bus transceiver.

Together to the microcontroller, the key product of the solution is the actuator for the DC motor.

The VNHD7008AY and VHD7012AY are designed in the VIPower M0-7 technology allowing:

  • Design flexibility
  • PWM up to 20 KHz

  • Not dissipative current sensing
  • State-of-the-art protection optimized for the DC motor driving applications (i.e. cross current protection)
  • Embedded temperature sensing
  • External low-side protection
