Bluetooth mesh is a wireless topology that enables many-to-many communication, and is particularly suitable for building and home automation solutions including lighting and sensor networks. Hakim Jaafar has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and is currently the Marketing Director for the STM32 Wireless Business Line at STMicroelectronics. He joined ST in 2000, and since then has held numerous key positions within ST’s 8- and 32-bit MCU organizations. In 2015, Jaafar was promoted to lead development of the new STM32 Wireless product line, which has now launched the STM32WB (2.4 GHz) and STM32WL (sub-GHz) MCU Series. Hakim holds a Master’s Degree in Physics and Applications from the University Paul Sabatier, and a Master’s in Semiconductor Physics and Management (Engineering degree) from Ecoles des Mines de St Etienne in France.
