USB Type-C with Power Delivery workshop with practical hands-on exercises
Join our 1-day free-of-charge USB Type-C with Power Delivery workshop with practical hands-on exercises using our STUSB4500 standalone USB PD controller |
Registration for this event is closed
ST offers a wide range of USB Type-C ICs from simple 15 W Type-C controllers to ICs supporting USB Type-C Power Delivery enabling high-power transfers up to 100 W.
After presenting the benefits and features of the new USB Type-C standard from a power perspective, this workshop will cover ST’s USB-C products and solutions and their use in applications requiring different levels of power either as a Type-C source or sink device. Practical hands-on exercises will focus on our new STUSB4500 Sink device with Power Delivery supporting voltage levels from 5 to 20 V and currents up to 5 A.
The workshop is organized in co-operation with Würth Elektronik, a leading manufacturer of certified USB-C connectors, who will enhance the workshop with connector and application information from this perspective.
Who should attend this workshop
- Developers looking to use a USB-C interface to power their product with or without Power Delivery
- Developers looking to use a USB-C port to provide 15 to 100 W of power (i.e. create USB-C source devices)
- Engineers looking for in-depth knowledge (theory and hands-on exercises) of the new USB Type-C Power Delivery specification
Benefits you will take away
- Understanding how to design efficient, cost-effective Type-C source or sink devices
- Enhanced theoretical knowledge as well as practical hands-on experience focusing on the required communications between Type-C source and sink devices for high-power applications
All attendees will take home a free STUSB4500 development kit (STEVAL-ISC005V1) with knowledge of how it works with different Type-C sources and the required configuration steps.
