Creating firmware for electric motor drives using auto code generation
Join us for a 1 hour webinar and learn how Altair Embed is used to simulate motor/drive systems, automatically generate efficient drive firmware, run Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation testing, and perform HIL testing.
Broadcasted on Tuesday, November 9th 2021
AC or DC electric motors with microcontroller-based drives are applied to a widening range of new products as they can provide precise torque, speed, and position control. Embed supports the full STMicroelectronics STM32 family of 32-bit microcontrollers based on the Arm ® Cortex ®-M processor which is designed to offer new degrees of freedom to MCU users.
With this webinar, attendees will:
- How to develop and prototype STM32-based motor control firmware using the Altair Embed visual environment
- Applying the Model Based Design (MBD) process to electric motor firmware development
- An understanding of how to rapidly validate and test your system from concept to production
This webinar will include a live Q&A with the experts.
Richard KOLK, Embed Product Manager, Altair
Richard KOLK joined Altair in 2014 and currently serves as the Embed Product Manager. He has been an active user of the Altair Embed product (formerly named VisSim) for over 30 years, both professionally and academically. Prior to joining Altair, Richard worked as a control systems engineer at McDonnell Douglas, United Technologies, Carrier, and Goodrich Wheel and Brake Systems. He has contributed to many embedded control projects including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner antiskid system, the Northrop Grumman X-47B UAV steering system, and standardizing electronic hardware and software for Carrier Commercial Control products, work for which he was awarded a Willis Carrier Fellowship. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford for 23 years, teaching courses in control system design, mechatronics, and authoring two textbooks on mechatronics. At Altair Richard enjoys helping Embed customers with their motor control projects and developing training material.
Jean Marc MATHIEU, Marketing Manager of Motor Control and Digital Power Segments, STMicroelectronics
Jean Marc MATHIEU is the Marketing Manager for Motor Control and Digital power segments in STMicroelectronics’ Microcontroller Division. He is also in charge of the STM32 product lines addressing the same segments. Jean-Marc joined STMicroelectronics in 1993 after completing an engineering degree in microelectronics. After working in engineering and applications at ST, he joined the STM32 Marketing team in 2008 to develop and promote the STM32 Power solutions in collaboration with other divisions in ST.
