Webinar | iNEMO™ 6-axis IMU with Machine Learning Core

During the presentation we introduce the LSM6DSOX iNEMO™ sensor from ST, a 6-axis high-performance inertial measurement unit (IMU) designed for gaming, wearables, consumer electronics and other IoT battery-powered applications.

The LSM6DSOX contains finite-state machine logic (FSM) and a Machine Learning Core (MLC) that allow classification of motion data based on known patterns. These unique features relieve the main processor from the first stage of activity tracking, saving energy to accelerate motion-based applications. Devices equipped with the LSM6DSOX can deliver a convenient and responsive "always-on" user experience without sacrificing battery runtime.

The device also has more internal memory than conventional sensors and a state-of-the-art high-speed I3C digital interface, allowing shorter connection times and longer periods between interactions with the main controller, resulting in even greater energy savings. The LSM6DSOX boosts performance at 0.55 mA in high-performance mode while offering low-power features for an optimal motion tracking experience.

Simon Callewaert is a Product Marketing Engineer for Sensors at STMicroelectronics, a position he has held since 2019. He joined ST in 2011 as a member of the R&D team working on 28 nm FDSOI and design kits in France. He transferred to ST Japan in 2013, and to the U.S. in 2015, where he focused on ASIC and COT opportunities in markets such as wearable and networking. Simon Callewaert was born near Lille, France in 1988 and graduated from the EPF Lausanne, Switzerland with a Masters degree in Electronics.    
Matteo Fusi is a Product Marketing Manager for Sensors and Actuators at STMicroelectronics, a position he has held since 2018. He joined ST in 2010 as a member of the MEMS Technology Development team working on motion sensors and micro-actuators. He transferred to the US in 2014, and since then has focused on growing the IoT business through system solutions for smart environments and smart things. Matteo Fusi was born in Milan, Italy in 1981 and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a Masters Degree in Electronics and a Ph.D in Materials Engineering.
