iNEMO inertial modules integrate complementary types of sensors to offer more compact, robust, and easy-to-assemble solutions compared to discrete MEMS products.
iNEMO System-in-packages (SiP) combine accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer in a monolithic 6-axis or 9-axis solution.
The integration of multiple sensor outputs bring motion sensing systems to the level of accuracy required for the most demanding applications, such as enhanced gesture recognition, gaming, augmented reality, indoor navigation and localization-based services.
This video tutorial shows how to easily configure a silicon-embedded advanced pedometer feature, using ST’s new generation of iNEMO™ Inertial Measurement Units (IMU).
This video on the SensorTile.box Pro Mode shows you how to use this IoT and wearable sensor development kit to create customized wireless applications using an STM32Cube function pack. Use-case on a Human Activity Recognition algorithm included.
Watch this short tutorial on the Expert mode of the SensorTile.box to learn how to use a graphical wizard to build programs without having to write any code.
LSM6DSOX: Ultra-low power and high accuracy
The LSM6DSOX is a system-in-package featuring a 3D digital accelerometer and a 3D digital gyroscope boosting performance at 0.55 mA in high-performance mode and enabling always-on low-power features for an optimal motion experience for the consumer.
The LSM6DSOX iNEMO™ sensor contains a machine-learning core to classify motion data based on known patterns. Relieving this first stage of activity tracking from the main processor saves energy and accelerates motion-based apps such as fitness logging, wellness monitoring, personal navigation, and fall detection.
The sensor also has more internal memory than conventional sensors, and a state-of-the-art high-speed I3C digital interface, allowing longer periods between interactions with the main controller and shorter connection times for extra energy savings.
The LSM6DSOX supports main OS requirements, offering real, virtual and batch sensors with 9 Kbytes for dynamic data batching. The LSM6DSOX fully supports electronic image stabilization (EIS) and optical image stabilization (OIS) applications as the module includes a dedicated configurable signal processing path for OIS and auxiliary SPI, configurable for both the gyroscope and accelerometer. The LSM6DSOX is available in a 14-lead plastic land grid array (LGA) package (2.5 x 3 x 0.83 mm).
