Paving the way to Industry 4.0, IO-Link communication networks (IEC 61131-9) can be used for bi-directional, point-to-point data connectivity down to the actuator and sensor level, enabling data pre-processing, sensor parameter tuning and advanced diagnostics.

We offer a range of solutions including IO-Link transceivers, STM32 microcontrollers as well as protection devices to help meet IEC 6100 requirements for electro-static discharge (ESD), burst and surge immunity together with a set of hardware and software evaluation tools to help implement efficient IO-Link gateways.

    • The application widget is designed to represent very common use cases based on typical production environments.

      The motor is monitored using the STEVAL-BFA001V1B predictive maintenance reference design kit, with configurable vibration thresholds and the powerful FFT library embedded on the STM32F469AI. Alerts can be triggered in the time domain and for different frequency subranges.

      The implementation features PC connection via UART with the STEVAL-IDP004V1 multi-port IO-Link interface.

      The GUI allows you to monitor 4 nodes simultaneously: pressure, humidity, temperature and 3-axis vibration (where you can adjust thresholds and several other settings).

    • The STEVAL-IDP004V1 (powered by an STM32F205) hosts four L6360 IO-Link and SIO (Standard Input Output) mode Master transceivers, and can retrieve information from up to four STEVAL-IDP003V1 sensor boards. These sensor boards are powered by an STM32L071 and host the L6362A IO-Link and SIO mode Device transceiver.

      The solution is for industrial applications running serial asynchronous communication protocols such as IO-Link.

      This evaluation tool replicates an industrial-sensor board (form factor is 8 x 70 mm), but it also lets you swap the sensors (four daughter boards are provided with VL6180X, IIS2DH, STTS751, IIS328DQ) so you can perform proximity, vibration, temperature or acceleration measurements.

      A GUI is available for use with any free terminal emulator.
      The two boards are equipped with standard industrial M12 connectors, as you would expect in real use scenarios involving predictive maintenance applications.
      The IO-Link protocol stack is not included in the package.
