Motion and vibration sensing and detection plays an important role in factory automation applications including linear or angular positioning tilt and leveling as well as motor condition monitoring and shock & fall detection. Typically supplied by a 24V DC rail, inertial sensors often use an IO-Link communication protocol to output data in analog or digital format.

ST offers a broad range of motion MEMS sensors including accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers – selectively offered in our 10-yr longevity program – that provide small size, repeatability, reliability and low power consumption, enabling compact and cost-effective wired and wireless industrial sensor networks.

In addition, we have a range of STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers, DC-DC switching and linear voltage regulators and high-precision operational amplifiers.
