While set to be replaced by more efficient LED solutions, fluorescent tubes and compact lamps (CFL) are still rather popular. They are driven by a high-frequency power converter that most often has a power factor correction (PFC) front-end to ensure high efficiency and small size and weight.
We have a complete range of pulse-width modulation (PWM) and power factor correction (PFC) controllers and STM32 microcontrollers that together with power MOSFETs and high-voltage gate drivers can help design high-efficiency converters for fluorescent lamps and tubes.
