基于buck(或降压式)、以及buck-boost(或升/降压式)拓扑的离线式变换器将电源转换为稳压直流输出(可以是正输出,也可以是负输出),无需隔离变压器,只需调节功率开关的占空比。

电感器件中的电流波形定义变换器的运行模式(当电感中的电流从未降到零时是连续模式,当电感电流在一定间隔时间内保持为零是不连续模式)、当电感电流只在某一点为零则称为边界模式或过渡模式。这两种拓扑都可以使用低成本的电感器件进行能量存储和从输入到输出的转换。
