ST’s portfolio of engine management systems (EMS) includes sensor interfaces, voltage regulators (for MCUs or sensor supplies), drivers (for injectors, relays, and lamps), and motor drivers (for throttle control and waste gate functions) as standalone ICs or integrated in a so-called U Chip (umbrella chip) configuration.
Incremental options to cope with engine performance/type and local regulations are part of the offer: from 1 to 8 cylinder for port fuel injection (PFI), gasoline direct injection (GDI), diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) engines.
For most products, a set of documented hardware and software collaterals are available to help customers develop the most suitable ECU design.
