20,000 m² of cleanroom space, processing over 1.34 million chips per day
ST's Assembly & Test site in Kirkop is the largest of its kind in Europe and one of ST's most important high-volume manufacturing hub globally. As Malta's largest private employer, with over 1,500 people on site, it serves some of the most demanding end markets in electronics, automotive, industrial, space and connectivity. At Kirkop, you work at the scale where decisions matter and technology has real consequences.
Where factory data becomes competitive advantage
Where factory data becomes competitive advantage
Kirkop runs on more than hardware. With over 1.34 million chips processed daily, the site generates vast volumes of production data, and the teams here are built to act on it. Engineers and data scientists work side by side on predictive maintenance, yield optimization and digital twins, using machine learning and advanced analytics to drive measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and sustainability.
If you work here, you'll be finding signal in noise, closing feedback loops between equipment and process, and helping Europe's largest Assembly & Test facility raise standards every day.

In 2024, ST Malta won the Energy & Water Sustainability Award at the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards, recognition of work that's still ongoing. Advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities on site are targeting 60% water recycling, and a newly operational water treatment plant at Kirkop is actively reducing the site's environmental footprint at production scale. This is commitment to infrastructure that engineers here helped design, commission, and improve, and continue to move in this direction.
