High-end features in a compact line
Intelligent Power Switches (IPS) compact line features high-side switches that combine intelligence and efficiency in a space-saving design. Built with STMicroelectronics VIPower® technology, these monolithic drivers are intended to drive any kind of load with one side connected to the ground. The reduced package size targets slim digital output (DO) modules for PLC applications, meeting IEC industrial standards.
These octal high-side switches combine advanced features and flexibility, with only 110mΩ RDS(on) per channel to preserve system efficiency. The 0.7A IPS8200HQ and 1.0A IPS8200HQ-1 can control capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to ground. They feature integrated protections and diagnostics that ensure intelligent system management, along with LED drivers, a voltage regulator, and a selectable serial or parallel logic side interface.
These octal high-side switches save space, enhance reliability, and are ideal for factory automation in PLC modules, vending machines, and CNC systems. Built-in protection and diagnostics allow control of heavy industrial loads and feature low on-resistance, ensuring safe and efficient operation. They comply with industrial standards IEC 61131-2 and IEC 61000. Operating voltage range: 10.5V to 36V, offer different output currents per channel: 0.7A (IPS8160HQ) or 1.0A (IPS8160HQ-1).
