Microprocessor Supervisors and Reset ICs

Microprocessor Supervisor, Microprocessor Reset, and Reset ICsST offers an industry-leading portfolio of Microprocessor Supervisors and Reset ICs. They range from basic, single-voltage resets, to resets with a watchdog, and highly integrated devices that include Reset, Battery Switchover, and Tamper Detect functions.

Microprocessor Supervisors
These devices add additional features including Watchdog and Early Power-fail Warning (Power-Fail In/Power-Fail Out – PFI/PFO, push-button reset and battery monitoring). Microprocessor supervisors with a switchover function preserve SRAM data in the absence of system power by automatically switching to battery backup when system power fails. A Chip-Enable Gate automatically write-protects the SRAM when Vcc begins to fall.

Reset ICs
These devices provide basic voltage monitoring and reset timing for Power-on Reset and Low-Voltage Detect (POR-LVD) function. Some devices feature an additional input which can be used for Push-button Reset, and others are designed to monitor two (or three) system power supply voltages.

Voltage Detectors
Provide precision monitoring of battery, power supply, and regulated system voltages when no reset timing is necessary.

Related Information

SRAM Non-Volatizors with Real-Time Clock allow users to create their own TIMEKEEPER® NVRAMs. Available with both serial and parallel interfaces to the Clock register, these devices turn Low-Power SRAMs into Non-Volatile RAMs by automatically switching to battery power when system power fails; both, the SRAM contents and the Real-Time Clock are kept alive. In addition to the NVRAM Supervisor features and RTC, these devices also are rich in Microprocessor Supervisor features including POR-LVD, Watchdog, PFI/PFO, and Battery Monitor.

M41ST85 (I2C bus access to the RTC)
M41ST95 (SPI bus access to the RTC)
M48T201 (8-bit bus, parallel access to the RTC, 1 LPSRAM)
M48T212 (8-bit bus, parallel access to the RTC, 2 to 8 LPSRAMs)
