First Audio Power Amplifier

Back in 1969, SGS, one of the two mother companies of STMicroelectronics, introduced the first Power IC ever produced in the World: the TAA611.

It was an Audio Power Amplifier capable of delivering 1W of power over an 8 ohm load.

Since that time SGS, then SGS ATES, then SGS again, then SGS-THOMSON and now STMicroelectronics has developed more than 100 different Audio Power Amplifiers.
