The TYN612MRG is packaged
in TO-220 with tight IGT range and an excellent sensitivity.
The IGT is the minimum gate current necessary to fire the SCR.
Supply winding provides an AC voltage ranging from 0 to
200V depending on engine speed rotation. When the battery
voltage is lower than the zener voltage of Z1, D1 is forward biais
and turns the SCR (Th1) on. The battery is charged during the positive
half cycles. In addition, supplied AC voltage is rectified and the
capacitor C is charged. When the capacitor voltage exceeds the zener
voltage of Z2, the transistor (Tr) is turned into conduction and
switches the SCR (Th2) on and the negative half cycles are shorted.
This regulates the output voltage level.
The TYN612MRG can also be used in other applications:
For crowbar voltage protection:
overvoltage protection for the output stage of a Switched
Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
Inrush current limiting
circuits: limitation of inrush current due to the bulk capacitor's
charge at start up, in Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS)
Standard motor control circuits for power tools
and kitchen aids
Basic circuit for voltage regulation in motorbike
This sensitive (tight IGT range ) and robust (high
noise immunity, high ITSM) TYN612MRG is optimized to offer
a cost effective solution for reliable voltage regulation
in motorbike.
