ST’s power-line overvoltage protection devices support applications such as satellite boxes (LNB), high power DC-DC converters, and telecom power rails.
They are designed to meet IEC 61000-4-5 and offer:
- Surge current capability up to 500 A
- Wide package offering, including multi-line high-power device packages
- Devices optimized to support specific applications
The ITA series is optimized for industrial applications, the SLVU and PEP01 for Ethernet or PoE, and the STIEC45 series is for DC power rails.
New compact protection for factory automation EN 60947-5-2 compliant sensors
With a stand-off voltage of 36 V, the new SPT02-236DDB is designed to protect 2-wire proximity sensors – EN 60947-5-2 compliant – against reverse battery and IEC 61000-4-5 transient surges (25 A – 8/20 µs), in a factory automation environment. Housed in an extremely compact 3.3 x 1.5 mm µQFN package, it guarantees the highest level of protection with a maximum clamping voltage of 46 V (at 2 A, 8/20 µs). This device is also available in chip scale package upon request.
For 3-wire sensor protection, SPT01-335DEE remains the best solution.
