NFC / RFID memory and transceiver products are based on the 13.56 MHz carrier frequency and support the ISO 14443 and ISO 15693 RFID standards. ST offers one of the most comprehensive portfolios, which includes:
- Dynamic NFC / RFID tags (also known as Dual Interface EEPROM)
- NFC / RFID transceivers
- NFC / RFID tags
M24LR-Discovery kit wins award
ElectronicaNews awarded M24LR-DISCOVERY kit in the Software and Tools innovation category.
It is a true plug and play kit that allows system designers to discover how ST’s Dynamic NFC / RFID Tags (M24LR Series) can be used in their system. The unique combination of an I²C serial bus, an NFC / RFID ISO15693 passive RF interface and a reliable EEPROM memory bank with flexible data protection scheme gives ST’s M24LR Series the ability to communicate with the host system over wire or over-the-air. The EEPROM memory can therefore be read and written either by an NFC enabled smartphone, an RF-ID transceiver or the system host processor.
The energy harvesting feature enables battery-less reading and writing of the EEPROM memory and even to distribute power to the system. Depending on the reader and the antenna size a current of 5mA at around 2 volts can be generated which is more than adequate to power the new generation low power MCUs.
