The STM32 microcontrollers
with dedicated motor control peripherals and powerful Cortex-M3
core offer the computing power developers need for 3-phase
brushless motor vector control.
For developers of STM32-based motor control applications,
the STM32 Motor control starter kit (STM3210B-MCKIT)
provides a complete development platform with all the hardware
and software required to get applications started on the right
foot, and shorten time to market by allowing developers to
apply what they learn in the evaluation phase to real-world
applications.
The kit comes ready to run a PMSM motor (included) or AC
induction motor (accessory). Simply power up the application
hardware and you're ready to explore all the different parameters
of the sensorless vector control algorithm.
Then, when you're ready, modify the demonstration application
and use what you have learned to develop your own motor control
applications. The Segger J-Link is included in the kit for
connection to a host PC via an industry standard 20-pin JTAG
connection. When connected to a host PC, the opto-isolation
board provides galvanic isolation for the host PC and development
tools on the 20-pin industry-standard JTAG connection.

The kit includes PMSM (sensored and sensorless) and AC induction
(sensored) motor control libraries to facilitate implementation
of the family's motor control peripherals. The libraries can be
built using the free
IAR Embedded Workbench (EWARM) KickStart edition (32K code-size
limited), which includes the IAR C/C++ compiler.
