After introducing the DVIULC6-4SC6
protection dedicated to the DVI port, the HDMIULC6-4SC6 is
a new product enlarging the protection solutions range. It offers
high ESD protection along with ultra-high cut-off frequency in
order to preserve signal integrity at very high data rates. 15
kV ESD protection is now applicable to high-speed digital multimedia
connections such as HDMI port.
The HDMIULC6-4SC6 complies with the most stringent
ESD standard, IEC61000-4-2 level 4. This means the device withstands
over 15
kV air-discharge and 8 kV contact-discharge. Rigorous testing
of the HDMIULC6-4SC6 has shown that it even
withstands considerably higher levels of discharge than that
required by the standard.
The ultra-low line capacitance of 0.6 pF of the HDMIULC6-4SC6 implies
the highest cut-off frequency (>5 GHz) on the market
in order to fulfill all HDMI requirements and anticipate future
evolutions. The device has no influence on rise and fall times
of the signal providing strict compliance with the HDMI specification.
It enables full protection of the port while being transparent
to the performance of the link. The ultra wide bandwidth implies
almost no impact of the device on key features such as intra-pair
skew and inter-pair skew along the differential pairs.
The HDMIULC6-4SC6 provides the best trade-off in protection/performance
for high-speed series data lines. It preserves data integrity
with no influence on rise and fall times as well as skew. It
offers balanced signal and low leakage current with the best
protection level available on the market against the most stringent
ESD surges.
