Dynamic NFC/RFID Tags

The innovative M24LR Dual Interface EEPROM family provides many new features and capabilities. The EEPROM can be accessed either by a low-power I²C interface or by an NFC/RFID-compatible RF interface operating at 13.56 MHz (ISO 15693). In addition, the family features an energy harvesting function and a 32-bit password protection mechanism.

These dynamic NFC/RFID tags are able to transmit information from the heart of the application to either an ISO 15693-capable NFC smartphone or to an industrial RFID reader.

  • With NFC technology becoming widespread in smartphones and tablets, it allows you a unique opportunity to design products with improved user experience at limited user interface cost (taking advantage of portable user interfaces) so data can be transmitted, without consuming any on-board power.
  • With industrial RFID readers enabling RF access to your products, it is now possible to remotely program or update their parameters, offering more flexibility in electronic goods management throughout the entire product lifetime from manufacturing to after sales.
  • In addition, the energy harvesting function enables breakthrough batteryless designs by delivering power to the rest of the system in a wide range of emerging applications.
